November 2008 The Lamb at Hindon is Awarded First AA RosetteThe historic Lamb Inn, which sits in the middle of the charming Wiltshire village of Hindon (20 minutes from Salisbury), has been awarded its first AA Rosette. AA inspectors annually award Rosettes to restaurants for the quality of their food. The Rosette recognises “excellent restaurants that stand out in their local area. The food is prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good-quality ingredients.” The restaurant received the accolade from the AA under the leadership of head chef Greg Szuniewicz. The chef took over the kitchen at the Lamb Inn in September 2007 and over past 12 months has focused on raising the restaurant’s already high culinary reputation. Szuniewicz does not plan to stop at one Rosette and is working to take the kitchen to the next level in the coming year. The Lamb Inn serves market-fresh fish, game in season and well-chosen meat dishes. The ingredients are always fresh and sourced, where possible, from the best local or Scottish suppliers. To celebrate the award, the Lamb Inn is, for a limited period, offering a special 5-course gourmet menu at both lunch and dinner for just £19.50. The Lamb Inn began trading as a public house probably as early as the 12th Century. By 1870 it was already well established as a posting inn that supplied 300 post horses for coaches going to and from London and the West Country. To this day the building retains much of its original character and features including inglenook fireplaces, flag stone floors and heavy wooden beams. The Lamb Inn offers the Dining Room, Whisky & Cigar Bar, the Sitting Room and the Meeting Room, as well as fourteen individually furnished bedrooms. The Lamb Inn in open daily for lunch from midday to 2.30 pm and for
dinner from 6.30 to 9.30 pm (Sunday: 7 to 9.00 pm). Reservations and
